MARS IN SCORPIO
Mars in Scorpio is seemingly immovable while simultaneously thriving in changing circumstances. How can this be? It pushes against anything that resists while resisting all changes. This resistance offers the power, but power has a cost and something must be sacrificed, mainly: safety.
Power is gathered slowly here, but one must know exactly when and how to strike. Resisting too long increases the risk of putrefaction, but a festering state can be a fertile terrain for metamorphosis. Sometime one must be pushed to decompose in order to connect with the raw powers of renewal.
“It was all a lie, it all stank, stank of lies,
it all gave the illusion of meaning and happiness and beauty,
and all of it was just putrefaction that no one would admit to.
Bitter was the taste of the world. Life was a torment.”
-Hermann Hesse
GROWING PAINS
Mars and Jupiter are together in Scorpio right now, which reflects these themes or resistance and surrender. There is a desire for an honest narrative, a genuine experience , true connections, and the bullshit radar is cranked on high. The wounds are magnified and we are aiming our fires directly at them in order to cauterised the open sores.
The part of your chart where Scorpio is found is under tremendous pressure to transform. Whatever has expired at this point is obvious, although it might be the only thing you want to hold on to. It can feel familiar to live with problems, it can even be comforting giving you meaning and purpose. However, familiarity is not necessarily productive and with Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn right now, we are looking to build solid foundations while destroying the old structures.
Capricorn ambition ushered us into the New Year. Capricorns are famous for being hard on themselves. The list of future accomplishments is long and our plans to secure success could border on zealousness. There is a changing of the guards. The grip is strong and the answer lies in what we are resisting, or what is resisting us. This process is slow and painful, but the rocks need to be removed first before we can plant the seeds.
Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts.
All depends on the principles which direct them.
-Napoleon Bonaparte
