Just before the first hint of her fall                                  
A brief moment of glory
Sitting on her golden throne
Her eyes rest on the bounty

There are many secrets hidden in the heart
that only time can expose
The maiden is fair and fertile
for a season only

After the decline of the light
A sacrifice of flesh
What is concealed will be revealed
when pride turns to humility

The ripen fruit must fall
at the peak of sweetness
To process and preserve
the memory of summer’s caress

The Sun just crossed from Leo to Virgo and is now conjunct the star Regulus (The heart of the Lion). This interesting part of the zodiac is often associated with The Sphinx. The meeting of the lion with the maiden. In more ancient systems these two are thought to have been one sign.
