Today’s Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune and the Tail of the Dragon (South Node of the Moon) speaks of foggy circumstances. Reasoning and rational abilities might be at an all time low as we are swayed by psychic emotional tides. (particularly coming from social media.)
The upcoming Full Moon in Taurus (earth) ruled by Venus in Capricorn (earth) next week will be a good opportunity to anchor and re-group.
Neptune’s conjunction to the South Node will be exact on the 17th, Mercury will square Neptune on the 18th and Neptune will station direct on the 19th of November. The month closes with a square from the Sun in Sagittarius to Neptune in Pisces. That is a lot of Neptune.
Neptune rules beyond mundane material reality. Boundaries dissolves as we become susceptible to all sorts of impressions. Some are accurate while others are delusional. Here we meet anxiety and escapism or inspiration and bliss depending on where we put our attention. One of the side-effect of Neptune in Pisces could be a tendency to feel like a victim or like things are happening to us with little control over them.
A good idea is to disconnect from the information tide. Without escaping, find space, silence and stillness for true insights to emerge.
There could be missing elements from the picture we are looking at right now.
All things will come to pass, dissolve and disappear back into the void.
A good thing to keep in mind as we navigate these foggy waters.
”A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.”― Saul Bellow
“The Art of Dreaming begins with taking a personal inventory; registering the forces within – some of which need to be wrestled with, others loyally trusted. But eventually the dreamer must assume the reins, moving from receiving the dreams she is given, to becoming responsible for her waking life. Wielding the tools she has been awarded in the underworld, she walks the reality she chooses not only for herself, but for its benefits to her earthly community.” –

The Moon is in Pisces conjunct Neptune today. Difficulty concentrating, knowing which is which, what is what and who is who are possible side effects. The boundaries between us dissolve to reveal a bigger truth. Intuition and imagination collide to bring a new level of understanding. We can heal the rift between us by tenderly witnessing. We can help without taking on the pain of others. We can guide without wounding ourselves. It is a matter of knowing where one ends and where others begin.
“We may idealize freedom, but when it comes to our habits, we are completely enslaved.” ―Sogyal Rinpoche
Dedication and Destination
Uranus going direct at the end of December really got us all fired up about the upcoming possibilites in our lives in the New Year. Saturn in Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter in Virgo is offering the possibility to have an organised outlook on the horizon and a good idea of the work that is required get beyond our current situation. Our faith is turning towards the satisfaction that comes with the dedicated attention of working and being useful. We could feel ambitious and work hard to see concrete results down the road. This is a great time let go of instant gratification and integrate systems in our lives that can bring a lasting legacy.
2016 starts with Mercury retrograde at 1º of Aquarius tantalising us with a glimpse of the possible future. Mercury going backward in the sign of Capricorn is like the mountain goat walking the treacherous path of a mountain side: every steps are carefully calculated. With the Sun also in Capricorn and a recent conjunction to Pluto, we could feel extremely ambitious and ready to tackle pretty much anything. Mars in Scorpio is also supporting us with the staying power and resilience needed.
The year 2016 starts with an opportunity to review our values and what we consider important. There is an emphasis on all the little things that makes up the whole. Our attention is on analysis and perspective. The small but important details and the patience required to achieve mastery. The idea here is not to become a martyr but to find greater satisfaction through dedicated awareness in our everyday actions. Negotiating a chosen path requires a little give and take at every moment as we learn to develop a more efficient strategy. Success demands effort, commitment and nerves.
NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN ☾♑︎
The New Moon is at 21:31 EST on January 9th at 19º Capricorn and is carrying with her clues about our role and responsibilities and the place we want to occupy in the grand scheme of things. There might have been some difficult realisations brought up in the recent days around our relationships and habits that no longer serves you. Since this New Moon is ruled by Saturn she brings with her an awareness of time passing and our own or others mortality.
Saturn is currently conjunct Venus which confuse work with pleasure, labour with leisure. Even more so with the square to Neptune which can act as a distraction and a desire to avoid reality all together.
Jupiter just started its retrograde motion through the sign of Virgo and will only turn direct 5 months from now. *Special attention to the nitpickers and perfectionists out there, the possibility to get lost in the never good enough labyrinth is real.
Those planetary aspects, can indicate that we are aligning our work and our beliefs into a more unified version. If only we could find the simple formula that would allow us to combine the obligations of our reality with our inner truth. There is great need to adjust what we do on a daily basis with our beliefs and vice versa. This can create a sort of cognitive dissonance if our words do not match our actions. We are learning to walk the talk and we need to let go of certain habits, situations or people who might be holding us back.
The New Moon in Capricorn supports fresh ideas and concepts that are grounded and achievable. Since Mercury is retrograde for most of January, I would suggest focusing on restructuring the systems you have in place that will allow you to become more efficient. Favour concrete, step-by-step approach and let-go of time-wasting habits without becoming too obsessive.
We are weighed down, every moment, by the conception and the sensation of Time. And there are but two means of escaping and forgetting this nightmare: pleasure and work. Pleasure consumes us. Work strengthens us. Let us choose.
Like the waves of the ocean, our moods are susceptible to the changing of tides. The social medias are becoming a sort of collective brain we tap into, to get the general ”socio-cultural weather”. This of course, is a very subjective experience depending on what type of news you read.
The friends you associate with on facebook, twitter, instagram and the pages you follow will generally dictate your news feed. Our experience of social media is curated to our own like and dislike.
We can apply the same ideas, to our perception of reality. To a certain extent, we can only know what we know and experience life through the lens of our own standpoint. We live in a metaphorical ”fish bowl” believing it is the sea. We might intuit that there is more than meets the eye, but we can never be certain.
What keeps us believing that there is more? What do we tap into when we connect to our higher ideals of compassion and trust? What is this all-encompassing feeling of faith?Where does our spiritual awareness comes from and how can it be such a strong guiding light while being so elusive? To know or understand something because of what you feel or sense rather than because of evidence.
The instability of the world tends to bring us back to faith very quickly. Shifting our perception from outer to inner, connecting to this mysterious and ever flowing river. We often do this through prayers and meditation but it can also be done very easily through music, art, poetry our whichever feeds your soul. We are all made of the same stuff but we vibrate to different tunes.
The Moon will be in Pisces for the next 2 days. Tonight, she will square Saturn and meet Neptune, triggering the upcoming square. In astrology, the all-encompassing feeling of faith and the elusive but healing spiritual waters are the domain of Neptune. Neptune sometimes gets a bad rap since the planet is also connected with escapism, delusions and fantasy. It can go both ways. In fact it can go in all the ways you can and cannot imagine.
How to It is best to surrender to the Moon in Pisces, knowing that the overwhelming rainbows of feelings are only passing sensations/images. Use this window as an exercise in surrendering. Feed your soul the proper food. Music, poetry, dance, prayer, love, magic or whatever floats your boat. Know that the impressions you are getting at the moment might not be totally aligned with reality. This can be a creative aspect as long as you are aware that you might not be seeing the whole picture. There could be a big piece of the puzzle missing.
The upcoming Saturn/Neptune square cautions us against the total denial of reality. You will need to throw your anchor down somewhere. The urge to escape, love everyone, sacrifice yourself for peace, become an enlightened creature and heal the world, must be tempered with a good dose of pragmatism. Watch the sensations that arises in the next few days while the Moon is in Pisces, take notes.
Those emotions/sensations/intuitions/illuminations/denials, will most likely need calibration against the hard concrete walls of Saturn soon enough.
Here is an excerpt from the BookCosmos and Psyche where Richard Tarnas explores the meaning of Neptune. Neptune turns direct on November 18 2015, after a 5 month retrograde.
The Neptune archetype is also associated with illusion and delusion, deception and self-deception, confusion and ambiguity, projection, maya. It rules both the positive and negative meanings of enchantment-both poetic vision and wishful fantasy, mysticism and madness, higher realities and delusional unreality. It informs all that is paradoxically united. It transcends and confuses attempts to maintain strict boundaries, definitions, and dichotomies. It is the archetypal principle of the multidimensional and the metaempirical, the metaphorical and multivalent.
The Neptune principle has a special relation to the stream of consciousness and the oceanic depths of the unconscious, to all nonordinary states of consciousness, to the realm of dream and visions, images and reflections. It governs myth and religion, poetry and the arts, inspiration and aspiration, the experience of divinity, the numinous, the ineffable, the sacred and mysterious. Its domain is that of meaning rather than matter, the symbolic rather than the literal. It is associated with the realm of soul and spirit, the transpersonal domain, the collective unconscious, the anima mundi, the archetypal dimension of life, the realm of the Platonic Ideas. More broadly, Neptune is regarded as that which ultimately governs all mode of consciousness, in the sense of encompassing all the gods and archetypes that inform and shape how one experience the world, both outer and inner.
The Sun will be leaving the sign of Libra and entering the baptismal waters of Scorpio this afternoon. Meanwhile, the Moon is in early Pisces doubling the water signature.
In astrology, the water element symbolises deep emotions and the realm of intuition. The water signs are known for their sensitive disposition. Being in tune with the deeper dimensions of life also means picking up the subtleties and nuances that many others don’t notice. And with that knowledge, comes vulnerability. There is a secretive quality to the water signs and most have deep emotional undercurrents that are not visible. The need to protect themselves is very strong. The feeling responses can go from compulsive passions to overwhelming sadness.
Pay attention to your dreams. The power of the unconscious mind is like water.
We are heading towards a Saturn/Neptune square that will first be exact in December. We can think of Saturn as the cold hard reality and limitations of the physical world and Neptune as the all-encompassing, boundary dissolving spiritual agent.
This is an opportunity to ground our visions, taking realistic and practical steps towards birthing a dream.
This is a big theme for the rest of the year and for most of 2016. Our fantasies need to be framed into a realistic context to be possible. Delusions, escapist tendencies and addictions to people or substance are NOT the way to build a solid foundation.
Take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself if there might be any self-defeating behaviors that keep you from being where you want to be. Do not fool yourself down the slippery road with rose-coloured glasses. Use this time to be serious about your calling. Align yourself with what needs to be done.
This is a time where your ideals are being tested against the limitations of reality.
Get inspired, tap into your dreams and have a serious plan in place to create tangible results.
Dream and get to work.
FULL MOON IN PISCES-SATURDAY AUGUST 29 2015 @ 2:35 PM EDT.
This weekend’s full moon makes me think of the boat builder who finally gets to bring his boat on the ocean to see how it will sail. What happens once he goes out and launches his boat on the big open waters? Well first of all, there is an element of surrendering. After the work is done, each step carefully followed: stem. keel, moulds, battens, timbers, and planking, the builder is relying on his faith. Faith in his work, faith in the techniques used and the knowledge passed down from generations. Something else is at work here, and even though the boat builder is a skilled artisan, ultimately once he puts his boat on the water it doesn’t matter how much he knows about buoyancy because the ocean has the last word.
How does an object of art comes to be born?
It starts with a flash of insight, a vague image, a sensation of the shape to come. Inspiration, like the ocean has its own will. It is not controlled easily and in order for the artist to create, he must surrender to the process. The role of the artist is to translate the vision into form. We all have access to the realm of the intangible through our imagination, at night through dreams or through artificial paradise. But to bring back these visions and put them into forms takes a lot of hard work!
Sometime you look at a painting and you say: ”I could of totally painted that!” Why is this artist getting praise for something that is seamingly so easy to do?
Well the answer is simple: Because he did it and not you. He took the vision and brought it into form. It’s a very simple idea but the hardest step, because it takes practice. To materialise, to pull out the dream, out of the void and make something tangible you need to do it often. To be good at something you need to do it every day. In order to actually materialise the vision, you must try and try again, day after day until it becomes like a second nature. Until you become a passage for the dream to pass through. Until you become the voice for the soul of the world, a translator of the intangible: that is the role of the artist.
I really like this quote from Terence McKenna:
“The creative act is a letting down of the net of human imagination into the ocean of chaos on which we are suspended, and the attempt to bring out of it ideas.”
This weekend’s full moon is illuminating the paradox between our imagination and reality. Between what we would like our life to be and the daily rituals we do to get there. What you do, day after day and how it shapes your destiny. The master piece is your life and the balance between surrendering to it and shaping it takes skills. You don’t want to be a total control freak, but you also know that drifting aimlessly is a sure way to feel sorry for yourself. Go with the flow but where is the flow going?
God is in the details expresses the idea that whatever one does should be done thoroughly. When you pay attention to the details, the whole becomes a masterpiece. What you do with your days, how you fill them, the work, the habits, the rituals is how you shape your life.
