WEEK OF AUGUST 26, 2019

JON KOKO – KARESANSUI

Out of perfection nothing can be made.
Every process involves breaking something up.
Joseph Campbell

And just like that, Virgo season is here, and this is definitely one of the most grounding time of the year when we can see the results and the reasons of the past. Not only do we have a stellium in Virgo (stellium: 4 or more planets in the same sign), the New Moon on Friday August 30th is positively supported by Uranus in Taurus. It is a time of traction and implementation for what is being birthed in your life. The new structures that are emerging on the horizon are starting to make sense and you can begin to see the tangible manifestations of your long held visions, the birth of a new awareness, a new reality.

The wish you whispered half consciously under your breath while sleeping is surrounding you. The faint light that guided you through the storm is now your illumination. There is a clarity about the events in your life and a reason for everything. Nothing is perfect but you might be able to accept that all the imperfect decisions has led you exactly where you are.

Witness your powers of manifestation for better or for worst.

Until the new moon in Virgo on Friday, we stand in the liminal darkness of the waning Moon, the dark of the Moon. Slowdown your pace, reflect, contemplate, clean, cleanse, purge, stretch, create space for the wisdom to enter, collect the strength from the Earth, lay low.

Monday: Moon in Cancer
Tuesday: Moon in Cancer – Moon enters Leo at 21:23 NDT
Wednesday: Moon in Leo
Thursday: Moon in Leo – Moon enters Virgo at 21:27 NDT
Friday: New Moon in Virgo 8:07am NDT
Saturday: Moon in Virgo – Moon enters Libra at 20:37 NDT
Sunday: Moon in Libra

The New Moon in Virgo takes place on Friday August 30th at 8:07am NDT/6:37am EDT. The New Moon signals the beginning of the work, a time of creation and implementation, of ”to-do” lists, of tangibility and manifestation, a time of taking advantage of the resources available to you, utilizing your space and body properly and efficiently. All the small actions that leads to the whole, it’s happening now. Your breath, the way you chew your food, your digestion, your posture. The superfluous will seem extra superfluous while you find a purpose for everything. Each little things in their place, there is a place for everything, and no space wasted.

The New Moon is linked to the revolutionary ways in which you approach the ordinary. Set your intentions, but don’t set them to high as to be discouraged. Plant your intentions in the realm of the possible, the tangible, the practical, something that will yield a satisfactory result down the road, every step counts, every action has meaning.

Wood sculpture by Yoshitoshi Kanemaki

“Your thoughts, become your words;
your words, become actions;
your actions, become habits;
your habits, become your character;
your character,  becomes your destiny.”

WEEK OF MARCH 18: ARIES INGRESS/FULL MOON IN LIBRA

Spring Beauty by Viktor Mikhaylovich Vasnetsov 1885

Only 2 more days before the Sun enters the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries signalling the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

Upon entering Aries, the Sun will almost immediately start opposing the Moon in Libra. Late Wednesday night, the powerful rays of the Sun will illuminate the Moon creating a dramatic landscape to celebrate the first night of Spring.
The Full Moon in Libra will be exact Wednesday night at 21:43 EDT and casts a bright light on the tension created by our inner and outer dualities. Partnerships will come to the forefront this week as freedom versus commitment battle for attention.

In Aries, the Sun shines willfully and illuminates a desire for independence and sovereignty. However, the Full Moon in Libra brings attention to the agreements and contracts that must be respected and the compromises that must be made in order to continue on a peaceful path and reach our aim. Dynamics within our relationships need to be weighed out in order to understand the exchange of powers and to make sure they are equal. The ”give and take” required and the compromises made by both parties will need to be revised. Inequalities that have become problematic or that are reaching a saturation points will need to be dealt with. The Full Moon in Libra highlights a need to recalibrate. This process can happen peacefully as long as both parties are willing to dialogue. Anything that feels unfair will most likely become very apparent this week and will need to be addressed.

Since the Sun conjunct Chiron at the moment of the Full Moon and the following day, it is likely to highlight where we feel most vulnerable and raw right now. Chiron is associated with woundedness and pain which in turn brings much knowledge and wisdom. Chiron is beginning its journey through Aries which will bring remedies and healing opportunities in regards to our ego, our identity, the masculine or yang qualities, our libido, our sense of power and potency in the world. Its important to be honest about our vulnerabilities during this process so that we find the proper medicine. A good opportunity to swallow the bitter herbs as “good medicine always tastes bitter.”

Wishing you a joyful and fruitful Aries season🔥

NEW MOON IN LIBRA: A TENSE EQUILIBRIUM

The New Moon in Libra occurs on October 19 at 15:13 EDT in the very last degrees of the Scales just a few days before the Sun’s ingress into Scorpio.

THE TIPPING POINT

The New Moon at 26º Libra will be in a tight opposition to rebel planet Uranus which is at 26º Aries. Uranus is often associated with sudden breakthroughs and shocks that serves to jolt us out of complacency. Uranus in Aries is like an untamed, wild and defiant teenager who will do exactly the opposite of what you ask him to do. Uranus in the sign of Aries doesn’t have patience for conventions and niceties; it forges ahead without foresight straight into the eye of the storm to challenge the Gods. Uranus is that voice that says: ”just go for it, try it and see what happens”. Acting on impulse, following a crazy idea, a revelation that brings a revolution, it’s the lightning that strikes the genius and the mad ones. It’s that impetuous urge to move against the docile heard to find a new direction, a new way of doing things; a different way.

Then, we have this New Moon in Libra which is all about fairness and compromises or at least finding the balance between ”what you want” and ”what I want”. Venus just entered the sign of Libra on October 14 and is at home here. Venus rules over the New Moon and accentuates the  themes of partnerships and agreements. The focus is on finding a peaceful way to remediate the disequilibrium we might be experiencing in our lives. The desire for collaboration is strong, we want to get along and both parties are looking for ways to reconcile their difference. The idea of harmony and balance is held high like a precious gem that seems to be just out of reach. We stretch our arms towards it, trying to catch its rare glow only to find a molten piece of poisonous  lead.

This New Moon points its finger directly at what is out of synch an unbalance in our lives. It’s the trigger that urges us to find new and better ways to deal with it. We could feel a sense of urgency in regards to establishing some form of harmony that would rectify the chaos and disorder. Partnership are especially susceptible to this at the moment as we weigh the pros and cons of our agreements. The grass always seems greener somewhere else and Libra loves to keep her options open. Uranus opposing the Sun and Moon in Libra could bring a sudden desire to break free from something that feels too restrictive. With the Sun, the Moon and Venus in Libra we must bow down to our current agreements and fulfill our part of the contract. Even though peace seems to be a complicated and elusive notion at this time it must remain a guiding ideal.

It is in this paradoxical landscape that this new lunar cycle begins. We will soon enter the Fixed season of Scorpio and descend even further into our commitments but also the decisions we make towards transformation. Now is the time to use the power of reason to decide what we want so that our attention and focus can be well directed for the month ahead.

I believe in Nature

I believe in the reality of Nature

Not the mechanical reality
of the nine-to-fivers
With their flawed calendars
and false clocks
searching for eternal youth

Not the one that destroys
the true rhythms of Nature
and feed on the worship
of sickness and plastic

I believe in the reality of Nature
Where all things have their place
Perfectly in sync with each other;
every moments are filled with Gods
feasting on each other

From the time I opened my eyes
To the time of my last breath
I kneel down at the altar of Nature
and worship the only true rhythms
that regulates her perfection

The Just Measure

A Full Moon in Libra and partial lunar eclipse happened yesterday in the early hours close to the North Node of the Moon sometime called the head of the Dragon.

Eclipses will vary in intensity depending on many factors including whether it is a total or partial, Lunar or Solar eclipse and if it takes place close to the South Node (Tail of the Dragon) or the North Node (Head of the Dragon).

They usually come in pairs and we had a Solar eclipse in Pisces on March 8th and one yesterday March 23rd in the sign of Libra.

Some astrologers compare eclipses or the time in between them as having similar effect as the more widely known Mercury retrograde. Unexpected events, delays, misunderstanding or problems with technologies can be one of the symptoms.  An eclipse represent a time when one of our two major luminaries (Sun or Moon) is being obscured either by the shadow of the Moon in the case of a Solar eclipse or the shadow of the Earth in the case of a Lunar eclipse. This temporary darkness is an opening, an energetic trigger for things to come into existence or disappear into the void.  Shadows are associated with what we cannot see, blindness or a lack of something. While something is being obscured, it is also an opening into the deep and eternal darkness. This time can be very energizing for some while others can feel extremely drained, stressed out and tired.

Eclipse will also affect people differently depending on where it falls in their natal birth chart.  Positive or negative effects like the birth of a child, a marriage, sickness, a major turning point, ending and beginnings are associated with eclipses.

The temporary obstruction of the light sees the darkness that dwells in between the worlds take shape and materialize. This blackness colours our awareness for a moment and can bring about surprising turn of events.

Yesterday’s eclipse in Libra is the last one of a series on the Libra-Aries axis that started in 2014.

This eclipse highlights themes of interpersonal and personal relationships and the need to find balance between taking and giving. We can feel torn between selfish or bold reactions versus selfless compromises to reach middle ground. There is an emphasis on whether the motives behind our decisions are ego driven of based in the higher spirits of fairness and harmony.

This is definitely not an easy feat.

We could be torn between the need to follow our own path while also being asked to collaborate or compromise. We cannot exclude the need we have for others in our lives, our need to be seen and acknowledged. Every relationship is a mixture of give and take with a small dose of compromises and a big dose of collaboration.  Problem arises when we compromise our own integrity.

This last eclipse in Libra could be the final push towards solidifying an alliance, a situation, a state of mind or letting it go all together and realigning towards a more balance and centered state. A process that started in 2014 could find resolution but whether this will be fair and just could be a matter of circumstances. We could see ourselves oscillating between two opposites for another few weeks until we find the just measure.

Thoughts on Integrity under the Libra Moon

fd7b08d76c8f72424dd7e0b5b2daa128
‘Justice’ (1779) Sir Joshua Reynolds

I have been thinking about integrity a lot in the last few weeks. My own and others.

What constitute integrity?

To what extent are you willing to suffer to stick to your own code of conduct?

How long does it take you before you break under the pressure and act on something you know might be wrong?
Or
Can you even differentiate between the right way to act and the wrong way?

How do you usually treat others?

Are you a survival of the fittest type?
Or
Are you a philanthropist type?

What are you limits when it comes to letting other people step all over you?

Integrity from the online Webster dictionary: Firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility.

Here is the beginning of my reflection on the subject. Especially in regards to creative integrity.

Some people have integrity and some people don’t. Some people will step all over you
to push themselves forward. Let them because imitation is the highest form of flattery
and honour built on the sweat of others will only lead to self disappointment.

Experience and character is what shapes an individual unique perspective.
Riding a wave of glory build on imitation might get you somewhere but ultimately there is no substance behind stolen ideas. Integrity is knowing the difference between an immature need for recognition (or desperation) and work that comes from mature reflection (and most of the time some form of personal hardship).

In a rush to get to the top, you can make many enemies if you build a ladder with stolen materials.

-Integrity is learning to acknowledge others in your own creative process
-Integrity is living by the principles that you preach
-Integrity is knowing when you reptilian brain has taken over and stepping back for a moment.
-Integrity is an ethical principle, not biological.

“Let no pleasure tempt thee, no profit allure thee, no persuasion move thee, to do anything which thou knowest to be evil; so shalt thou always live jollity; for a good conscience is a continual Christmas.”

— Benjamin Franklin

The Moon in Libra sets the stage

FranzVonStuck-Judith-and-Holofernes-II-c1927

Venus enters Scorpio the sign of her detriment just in time for some potentially difficult planetary weather. The Moon will be in Libra all weekend ruled by Venus in Scorpio. Mars @ 14º Libra will perfect a square to Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday while being in mutual reception with Venus in Scorpio.

*It’s interesting to note that Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio while Pluto is the modern ruler. They will square each other while co-ruling Venus. A square or 90º angle between planets is associated with tension that stimulate action.

Putting the technical lingo aside, the next few days promises to be anything but calm. Unstable relationships or anything that was put on the back burner especially in regards to partnership could be where the action takes place. The diplomatic effort could very well crumble if the desire for power and assertion is not seriously kept in check. This can happen on the world stage as much as in our personal lives.

At its best, these planetary alignments can bring to the surface information that remained in the shadows until now. There could be a pressing need to transform a stagnating scenario or get to the heart of the matter with someone. Both the Moon in Libra and Venus in Scorpio want to relate. Venus being the intelligent use of charm, she helps us refine and bring harmony to the rough and crude aspects of ourselves. When Venus spends time in Scorpio, the hunger to fulfill our needs can take precedence over peace and harmony. We could be throwing out the more superficial approach when interacting with others in favor of satisfying a need for closeness, fusion and truth.

Of course, when we try to push our agenda on others forcefully, we almost always meet resistance. It might be difficult to see the manipulative tactics we or other employ since the sign of Scorpio rules unconscious urges and desires.

If anything, remember to keep it cool in the next few days.  Sunday December 6th will be the exact square of Mars and Pluto but we could see its repercussion well into the week. This is a brief but intense period and flexibility will be your best asset. Keep in mind that further analysis of your birth chart and where these planets are transiting will determine where the action is taking place in your life.

Venus enters Scorpio December 4th @ 11:15PM EST and will be in Scorpio until December 30th
The Moon moves in the sign of Libra December  4th @ 5:34PM EST
Mars @ 14º Libra square Pluto @ 14º Capricorn December 6th @ 3:52PM EST
