The higher that the monkey can climb
The more he shows his tail
Call no man happy ’til he dies
There’s no milk at the bottom of the pail
God builds a church
The devil builds a chapel
Like the thistles that are growing
’round the trunk of a tree
All the good in the world
You can put inside a thimble
And still have room for you and me
If there’s one thing you can say about mankind
There’s nothing kind about man
You can drive out nature with a pitchfork
But it always comes roaring back again
Misery’s the river of the world
Misery’s the river of the world
Misery’s the river of the world
For want of a bird
The sky was lost
For want of a nail
A shoe was lost
For want of a life
A knife was lost
For want of a toy
A child was lost

FOR WHEN THE MOON IS FULL IN CAPRICORN
I could write an uplifting forecast to satisfy the longing you have deep inside your belly for ease and comfort. To get lost in the warmth of a happy memory, the memory of a simpler time; a time of innocence.
I could tell you that everything will be smooth sailing from here on out, and that all your wishes WILL come true…one day. I could write about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and the secrets of eternal youth but all these stories would lead you astray from the crux of the matter at the moment which is the impending Full Moon in Capricorn. Not only will the Moon be shining bright in Capricorn; the most cynical and hard-ass part of the Zodiac, the Moon will also be basking in the light of Saturn; the ultimate taskmaster.
The Full Moon arrives on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 12:53 AM EDT just a few days after Mars stations retrograde in Saturn’s home sign of Aquarius.
Like a cold shower, the Full Moon in Capricorn wakes up the dreamy sleeper in us and shines her stark light on our reality, and the work that still needs to be done in order to find that sweet spot. Since the work is never done and new lessons are ALWAYS just around the corner, the days surrounding this Full Moon could feel a little bit heavy. Don’t be surprised if you feel inadequate or melancholic as Saturn casts its shadows on our broken world.
SO MUCH TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME
Weaving the story that is shaping itself in the sky in the next few months, we can see threads of success and failure intertwined closely with threads of power and pride thanks to Mars retrograde motion in the sign of Aquarius.
As we become increasingly aware of time passing, we become bolder with the things we want to accomplish. Workload increases voluntary or involuntarily as we test the limits of what we can do. Success becomes a subjective vision in the distance as we hustle to become the utopian version of our to-do lists; this is Saturn and Mars.
The Full Moon in Capricorn casts a bright and lucid light on the current state of affairs. Wether this is in your personal life or in the world at large you might feel burdened by it all. Do not be startled by the reality of your situation. This is a time of assessment and adjustment and we must show up, roll up our sleeves, and do the work.
The goat standing on the ledge of a cliff does not look at the top of the mountain or the deep ravin below. Putting one foot in front of the other, she stays present in her situation using strategy and strength to patiently reach the delicious green grass.
Comfort will come…just not right now.
Work, work, work, work, work, work
